Annual report 2025
We proudly present our annual report for the past year.
We would like to thank all our ambassadors for their continuous support of our mission. Without them we could never have made so much impact.

The year 2025
We look back on a wonderful year in which we had the opportunity to visit our new project in Malawi (photo) and welcome several new colleagues.
In 2025 we also launched our latest product: the Aluminum Bottle Made Blue. In addition, an increasing number of hotels joined our mission, donating 100 liters per guest night based on the water they’re able to save with our support.
Total donations showed a significant increase. We’re still aiming to eventually invest more than 1 million euros per year in clean drinking water and we’re already getting quite close to that goal.
The year 2026
In 2026 we hope to continue our growth and make an even greater impact. To do so, we’ll expand our efforts to support water entrepreneurs in developing countries through loans and investments.
In April, we’re visiting our projects in Sierra Leone together with some of our donors to learn more about how our investments in clean drinking water for schools and hospitals are making impact.
Lastly, we want to help our ambassadors with communication about their impact by creating automated company impact pages and maps. This will go hand in hand with the launch of a new and improved Made Blue website.

The numbers
Below you can find the key figures for 2025 compared to 2024, a breakdown of expenditures, and the foundation’s balance sheet.
We were unable to spend a portion of the 2025 donations on water projects in the same year: these funds will be deployed first in 2026, in line with our ambition to make as much sustainable impact as possible in the most efficient way.

Water projects
We are currently investing in the five water projects below. Four of these projects will be completed in 2026. Depending on the results, they will either be extended or replaced with new projects.
Max TapWater in Bangladesh has recently been extended through 2026. We will continue with a results-based finance model, under which we only make payments if the social enterprise established there achieves its targets.
Uganda: Wash, Learn & Share
In this follow-up of our WASH & Learn project in Uganda, we place an even greater emphasis on capacity building and sustainability, with a central role for entrepreneurs, women and girls.

Read moreInvestments and surplus
Since 2024, we allocate 10% of our donations to support water entrepreneurs in developing countries through loans and investments. This allows us to create greater impact with the same funds.
At the same time, we want to ensure that our core water projects deliver the volumes we commit to. We therefore aim to achieve at least 10% more within these projects, so that the risks associated with investments are covered.
In 2025, our cumulative surplus was 9.2%. We expect to increase this further in 2026 with the completion of several projects.

Litres of clean water delivered to date
On World Water Day 2026, we updated our counter to include all donations committed up to that date. It is essential for us to always verify that we can deliver the volumes we promise.
- Committed donations in litres: 24.8 billion
- Litres delivered by completed projects: 14.9 billion
- Expected litres from ongoing projects: 7.8 billion
- Total surplus: 0.9 billion litres
Water entrepreneurs
In 2024 we supported a business that emerged from the WASH & Learn project in Uganda. This enterprise, WASHFIN, enables micro-entrepreneurs to access start-up capital for water services through micro-finance.
In 2026 we expect to support two to three additional entrepreneurs. We are currently in discussions with entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone and Uganda. In addition, a potential spin-off from our project in Malawi may follow.
We will share any new developments on our website, just as we do with the project updates below.
