About La Trappe

La Trappe is a Dutch Trappist beer. It is brewed by the De Koningshoeven brewery of the “Our Lady of Koningshoeven” abbey in Berkel-Enschot near Tilburg in North Brabant.

Together with the Scottish brewer Brewdog and Made Blue, the brewery launched the unique Practice What You Preach speciality beer with a thousand times as much water.

But the brewer goes much further. Thanks to new techniques, a lot of water is reused in the brewery. The remaining footprint is mirrored with the same amount of clean drinking water in developing countries.

This special collaboration not only ensures a delicious beer, but also a major social contribution. Even though brands are sometimes far apart, we show that joining forces can lead to beautiful ideas with a result that you can fully support.

Brother Isaac van Brouwerij de Koningshoeven (La Trappe) explains in this video why they started working with an apparently strange partner Brewdog. Together they realize clean drinking water for at least 5,000 people for at least 10 years.

One litre for one litre

In our program One litre for one litre you can convert the water saving or water consumption of your product, service or organization into an equal amount of litres of clean drinking water in developing countries. Choosing a selection of customers or donating more litres is also an option. Transparency is paramount and we are happy to help you communicate about it!
