Update Said: the first machine
Update Said:
the first machine
The installation of the machine is completed – including the solar panels, audio playback function and the lighting to make getting water after sunset safer.
Web application
The web application for the dashboard is still under construction. With this, the water distribution of each new water vending machine can be tracked. This is important because then the monitoring can also be done from smartphones by several people. This way, there is always insight into the operation of the machine and one can respond quickly if something goes wrong.
To ensure that management is also properly guaranteed – 10 official water board members have been trained, along with 21 local government workers.
Here you can see what the basic vending machine looks like.
We are expanding
The first vending machines are a success and are closely monitored, but what next? Together with Simavi, we not only finance the following water vending machines, but also a research carried out by a local consultant. He will work with the local organizations to see how this project can be rolled out further with the ultimate dream of becoming completely independent of donations. That would of course be great, because it only increases our impact.
Said’s water vending machine
Said developed the Water Vending Machine: a super smart system that can provide safe drinking water using solar energy.
After a successful pilot in Nugototo Village (Dodoma region), he wants to expand his work to Ngomai. With that he reaches 7,000 people. But that is not his end goal. His mission is the same as ours: clean drinking water for everyone!
