Retulps Mission Indisposable 2020 Explained

Retulps Mission Indisposable 2020

Our ambassador Retulp has launched ‘Mission Indisposable 2020 with as objective:
Donate 20 million litres of clean drinking water and avoid 20 million plastic packaging.
We are of course very happy to participate in this, but how are they going to approach this?

NON-DISPOSABLE, IT’S POSSIBLE!

Retulp aims to reduce single-use plastic with their sustainable refillable drinking bottles. That is still desperately needed! Did you know that about a truck full of plastic waste ends up in our oceans every minute? As a result, not only do marine animals die, but there is also a risk that the toxic substances from plastic end up in our food chain.

At the moment, only a small part of the plastic we use is directly recycled. Although there are enough alternatives to single-use plastic in the Netherlands, around 500,000 plastic containers are thrown away every day.

Mission indisposable

Donate 20 million litres of clean drinking water and avoid 20 million plastic packaging. Is that feasible in 2020?

If it’s up to the campaign team, sure!

“To combat this plastic pollution, prevention is still better than recycling.”

Richard Gabriel, founder Retulp

Plastic soup

The realization that the plastic soup not only pollutes our earth, but also endangers our health, seems to have permeated society. The EU states have even agreed with a ban on disposable plastic products. We are slowly seeing a trend in society that companies and institutions are working to eliminate plastic. For example, the University of Utrecht announced at the beginning of the year that they would stop selling bottled water in soft drink machines, because we have excellent tap water in the Netherlands. A deposit system for small PET bottles will also be introduced in 2021.

Made Blue fights against Plastic Soup

20 million litres

Retulp has been ambassador of Made Blue since 2016. Retulp mirrors the contents of all its drinking bottles with a thousand times as many litres in developing countries. So with the purchase of a 0.75 litre bottle, you realize 750 litres of clean drinking water in a developing country. In 2018, Retulp donated no less than 18,520,000 litres of clean drinking water! With this we can give 250 people access to clean drinking water for a year in areas where there is permanent water scarcity.
