Made Blue news articles

In honour of our 10th anniversary, several platforms interviewed us about our achievements and dreams for the future. Here is an overview.

10 years of Made Blue

Made Blue is celebrating its 10th birthday this year. Take a trip down memory lane with us and find out how much we’ve developed over the past decade.

Made Blue rolls out the ‘blue carpet’ in The Hague

More and more companies are supporting our mission. This has resulted in quite the feat: in The Hague an entire street of hotels has joined our Enjoy Water to Give Water programme. This results in a ‘Blue Carpet’ of sorts in the political capital city.

Pre-bottled water from Made Blue

From now on Made Blue also offers pre-packaged water. This news may come as a surprise from us, as proponents of locally sourced water. Therefore we are pleased to announce our new interactive glass bottles with an impact of 100 litres of clean drinking water per bottle. Continue reading for more details.

13.5 billion litres on World Water Day 2023

As every year, we are announcing our meter reading on World Water Day: since our start, we have already produced more than 13.5 billion litres of clean drinking water on behalf of more than 500 ambassadors!

Clean drinking water update: 771 million people

At the end of last year, the WHO and UNICEF released a report on access to water and sanitation in 2020. Fortunately, we are moving in the right direction: from 785 million to 771 million people without access to safe drinking water.

2.3 billion people without toilets

Clean drinking water for everyone, that is our mission. But did you know that in our projects we do much more than just provide access to water? For example, access to toilets is also essential for a healthy life.

The alternative to packaged water: the Bottle Made Blue

The introduction of a deposit on small PET bottles is causing headaches for those that like to hand out a bottle of water. That has become about 50% more expensive. We developed a very affordable and reusable alternative with a huge impact: the Bottle Made Blue.

10 billion litres on World Water Day 2022?

Like every year, we will also announce our meter reading on World Water Day this year. Despite the various lockdowns, have we still reached the magical limit of 10 billion litres of clean drinking water?
