We are expanding our investment

The design and installation of the machine have been completed – including the solar panels, audio playback function in the machine and the lighting to make getting water after sunset easier and safer. The audio playback function not only provides instructions, but is also used by local advertisers to generate some extra income.

To ensure that management is also properly guaranteed – 10 official water board members have been trained, along with 21 local government employees.

Web application

The web application is still under construction. With this, the water supply of the vending machine can be tracked. This way the responsible people can monitor the functioning of the machine from their smartphones. and act upon when something goes wrong.

Because we are a social enterprise, we can quickly scale up to make a difference, globally.

Research

So the first vending machine is a success. What’s next? Together with Simavi we not only finance more water vending machines, but also a study conducted by a local consultant to scale up Said’s initiative. The ultimate dream: becoming completely independent of donations.
