MADE BLUE is a social enterprise, consisting of the Made Blue Foundation and (Water) Made Blue social enterprise. The donations which MADE BLUE receives are 100% transferred to the Foundation. The Foundation then invests these funds in clean water projects in developing countries, making sure we amply deliver upon our promise to all companies supporting our work
In addition to the Foundation, the (Water) Made Blue social enterprise is founded in order to execute VAT-taxed and risk-bearing activities that are related to our fundraising efforts and mission: access to clean water for all.
The Made Blue Foundation is a registered charitable foundation with a threefold purpose:
We work towards our goal with the ONE LITRE FOR ONE LITRE and MADE BLUE WATER programs, currently supported by over 350 companies in The Netherlands, Europe and beyond.
We work as transparently as possible and in an entrepreneurial way so, not depending on one-off donations or government subsidies but enjoying structural donations from win-win partnerships instead. To support this and grow towards even more impact, we have set up a social enterprise holding all risk-bearing activities separated from the works of the Foundation.
The Made Blue Foundation has an ANBI status with the RSIN number: 8545.63.933.
ANBI stands for Common Good Serving Organisation (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling) and this status is only granted after extensive research by the tax authorities.
In 2019 we announced a big milestone: since our start at the end of 2014 up to and including the first half of 2019, a total amount of no less than 1,000,000 euros has been pledged by our ambassadors. We set the ambition to reach at least 1,5 million by the end of 2020.
Below you will find our most recent meter reading of World Water Day 2021: March 22. The current total amount of money pledged guarantees that nearly 8,000,000,000 liters of clean water will be made available to people who permanently lack access to clean drinking water. That means access to clean drinking water for at least 109,581 people for at least 10 years. Read here more about how we make this happen.
We have more than reached the milestone of 1,500,000 euros! After receipt, this amount will be invested in the water projects from our implementation partners and under supervision of Aqua for All. Read here more about our money flows.
